We are pleased to inform you that the application of the Hungarian Diaspora Scholarship Programme (HDS) is now open. The Scholarship Programme was established by the Hungarian Government for those who live in a Hungarian diaspora outside of the EU and wish to study at a Hungarian higher education institution to develop their personal, professional and cultural relations to Hungary. This year, nearly 250 new applicants were awarded the scholarship – the highest number since the programme got launched!

The new Call for Applications is for higher education studies in Hungary starting in the Academic Year 2026/27, including:
- undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programmes leading to a degree (years of training)
- 5-10 months exchange (partial study) programmes,
- other types of programmes, such as one-year Hungarian language preparatory courses.
HDS summer university courses (summer of 2026) will be open for application again. Further information can be expected in the second half of December.
